Conversation providers
See which service sends the SMS and email you send from Conversations, and make any change with your consultant.
2 min read
The Conversation Providers page decides which service delivers the SMS and email you send from the panel. During Squaremeters setup, the Squaremeters phone system and Squaremeters email service are selected by default, which is the right setting for most agencies. Opening this page to check is usually all you need to do.
Check the default providers
- Open Settings → Conversation Providers.
- In SMS, check that the default provider is the Squaremeters phone system.
- In Email, check the default email provider. If you've verified your own domain under Email services, emails go out from that domain.
Heads up
Changing the provider changes which number and domain messages are sent from. A wrong choice can stop automation messages such as appointment confirmations and follow-ups from going out at all. Tell your consultant first.
Which channel is managed where?
| Channel | Managed in |
|---|---|
| SMS | This page (provider) and Phone system (number) |
| Email services and this page | |
| Phone / assistant | Phone system |
| WhatsApp Business API | |
| Instagram, Messenger | Facebook and Instagram |
The listing links and confirmations the assistant and automations send usually go out on WhatsApp, which is managed through integrations, not this page.
When should you look at this page?
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| SMS isn't sending | Check the provider is the Squaremeters phone system; ask your consultant whether the number supports SMS. |
| You connected your own domain for email | Check the email provider is the Squaremeters email service and the domain is verified. |
| You used a different email service (SMTP) before | Plan the switch with your consultant; don't run two services at once. |
Note
In Turkey, bulk SMS and commercial email require the recipients' İYS consent. See İYS and KVKK.
Common issues
SMS can't be sent. The selected provider may not have an SMS-capable number. Write to your consultant.
Emails still go out from the old address. Make sure your dedicated sending domain is verified.
