Calendar types
The difference between Personal, Round Robin, Class, Collective and Service Menu calendars, and when an estate agency uses each.
2 min read
There are five calendar types in the panel. Choosing the right one makes sure the appointment goes to the right agent, nothing double-books, and the assistant offers callers the right times. You choose the type when creating the calendar; during setup the Squaremeters team picks the right types for your agency.
Personal Booking
A one-to-one calendar based on one team member's availability.
In an estate agency:
- An office meeting with the broker: an off-plan presentation, an investor meeting, signing an instruction.
- Viewings of one agent's own listings.
Round Robin
Appointments are shared between the agents assigned to the calendar, in turn or by availability. The client doesn't choose who comes; they only pick the time.
In an estate agency:
- Viewings: whichever agent is free gets the viewing.
- Valuation visits: seller enquiries shared between agents.
This is the type that works best with the assistant: because it can offer the team's free slots rather than one person's, callers get more options. See Team calendars.
Class Booking
One host meets several attendees at the same time; each session has a capacity.
In an estate agency: a launch day for a new development, or an online briefing for international buyers.
Collective Booking
The appointment needs several team members free at the same time. The client only sees times when everyone is free.
In an estate agency: a valuation of a large commercial property where the broker and an agent go together; a presentation at the sales office with the project manager and an agent.
Service Menu
A shop-window style booking page where the client picks a service first, then (optionally) a person, then a time. Estate agencies rarely need it; if you want several services on one page, talk to your consultant.
Which type should I choose?
| Scenario | Suggested type |

| Viewings, several agents | Round Robin |
| Valuation visits, agents handling sellers | Round Robin |
| Office meeting with the broker | Personal Booking |
| Development launch day, 20+ people | Class Booking |
| Broker and agent together | Collective Booking |
